Holiday Hours & NYE

Hope you’re all enjoying/about to enjoy a lovely holiday right about now!

As you may have heard, we’ve lost our lovely bartender Didi to Canada Immigration Services… she’s now back on the Emerald Isle for the time being. She’ll be greatly missed, and we thank all of you who came out to help us give her a grand send off. With her departure, and many of our part timers heading home for Chirstmas, we’re a tad short staffed. So, we’ve decided to take a little more time off over the holidays this year. We have mixed feelings about it – we love being open over the holidays as everyone’s spirits are high and you never know who will waltz throDSCN6544ugh the front doors. But we’re also just about ready for a break… All those “Bye-bye Didi” parties have certainly taken their toll.

We had such  blast last New Year’s Eve that we’ve decided to host another bash. Same format, 5 beers paired with 4 courses. We’re still fine tuning the details, but the menu will feature MacLennan’s Glen duck confit, Randy MacDougall’s Knoydart raised pasture-fed beef- a prime rib roast, Sam’s Point Oysters done in the Rockefeller style, and our famous lobster chowder (“The First Wonder of Antigonish” according to Dr. James Orbinski’s recent commencement address!). The jury is still out on after dinner activity, but the 2 options are Townhouse Karaoke (last year was a pretty wild experience, one many of us can’t wait to repeat) or a shuffle on over to the basement of the legion for a proper NYE dance party!
