September/October: Burger Week + great music and events!

As many of you well know, it’s Antigonish Burger Week, Sep 18-24! You have only got a few more days to sample burgers from a whole bunch of awesome participating Antigonish restaurants with a dollar form every burger sold going directly to the Antigonish Food Bank! This year we’re serving up The (ultra-local) Farm Burger! Made with local, grass fed beef from Western Wind Farm, Knoydart‘s organic aged cheddar, grilled onions from Casey VandeSande, Quinn Farm‘s sliced tomatoes, Bethany Gardens arugula/Overmars Farms greens, and Thomas’s dill pickles made with Seabright Garden’s cucumbers and dill! Support local farmers and the food bank while filling your belly!

And when you’ve had your fill of burgers (is that even possible?!?!?!?), check our line up of incredible visiting musicians and events!

October 17, 9pm:

Petunia & the Minimalist Jugband

Don’t miss Petunia SOLO on the road with the Minimalist Jugband. How do you describe Petunia to someone who has never seen him perfom? Well, he’s like Hank Williams on acid… Tom Waits meets Elvis at Wood Guthrie’s hobo junction… If Nick Cave and David Lynch had a hillbilly baby, one that yodelled, you would have Petunia. An undiscovered hidden treasure.

Petunia’s solo performances are irresistably complimented by… The Minimalist Jugband… He’s a psychobilly beat poet… He opened up for Nick Cave, and played Vancouver Folk Fest a few times. Canadian National Slam Team… Underground outside artist… funnier than comedy, sadder than music.

October 21, 9pm:

The Boo Radley Project

An eight-piece alt-funk-jazz collective from Elora/Guelph, Ontario. stay tuned for details…

October 28, 9pm:

Buck Tingley & The Hard Looking Tickets

Back by popular demand, Buck brings his band and their own brand of swinging, gritty, low-down and dirty Chicago blues (think Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, Willie Dixon).

November 18, 9pm:

Christina Martin

She needs very little introduction for her third visit, but just in case you don’t know her yet,  Christina Martin is a multi-award winning Canadian singer-songwriter whose style has been described as an effortless union between Americana and Rock.
